Held in Sanctuary & on Zoom
Phase 1A – September 19-October 17 (5 weeks)
Facilitators: Elliot Ritzema & Pastor Phil Rushton
We have a bewildering array of options when it comes to being informed about the world, from cable news to social media to news websites to some article someone texted us. How should Christians engage with it all? Paying attention to everything can make us overwhelmed, anxious, and angry, but tuning it out altogether doesn't seem like a good option, either. Join Elliot Ritzema and Pastor Phil to talk about how to interact with the news in a redemptive way: where to direct our attention, how to spend our limited time, how to evaluate a news source, and how to love God and neighbor through the way we interact with the news.

Here we are, still stuck in the middle of COVID-19. As some of us discussed during the “Faith, Grief, and COVID-19” course on Zoom in July 2020, we’re still lamenting but hoping, sometimes grieving while trying to remain productive. This fall we will gather to consider how we can, as individuals and the body of Christ, keep moving forward in faith, with self-care and empathy for others.

Are you interested in teaming up with others to discover how the arts interact with our faith and exploring ways to use the arts to enrich the worship and fellowship life of our BCC community? This current ministry is re-structuring and looking for people who want to be a part of the team. You don’t need to see yourself as an “artist” in the traditional sense. There are many avenues to use your gifts in bringing all forms of art to our church.
Contact joysoltis@yahoo.com/360-325-3644 to begin your conversation. A meeting will be planned in September to gather interested persons together.

VISION
The purpose of Women Ministries at Bellingham Covenant is to provide ways for women to connect with one another, to grow in friendships and faith, to serve, and to reach out to the world around us in a variety of ways. And we have fun doing it! Here's just a few of the things we do together:
GARAGE SALE
This is an all-church event held in March or April. Donations are accepted throughout the year and all proceeds go to provide service and help to individuals and various agencies and projects. Many volunteers are needed and it provides a great way of connecting with others in the planning, preparation and completion of the sale. And, it is a lot of fun!
Contact Gaye Godfrey and Gena Gustafson for more information.
WOMEN’S RETREAT
Each fall the North Pacific Conference sponsors a Retreat for the women of the Conference which is held at Cascades Camp located near Yelm, WA. It is a wonderful opportunity to worship, learn, connect, have fun together. More information coming in May and watch for “early bird” signups in the summer. Our Women’s Ministry at BCC provides partial payment of the Retreat fees for those attending from our church.

HOLIDAY BAZAAR—Cancelled due to COVID this year.
This community event is held on the second Saturday of November and features artists and crafters from both the community and from BCC. Many volunteers (both men and women) are needed for this special one-day event. This is an excellent opportunity to open our hearts and doors to welcome our friends, neighbors and community in the name of Christ.
Contact: Gladys Clancy for more information.
EVENING IN DECEMBER
Come and enjoy a Christmas celebration and reflection time on the second Tuesday evening in December. This is a wonderful opportunity to have some delicious dessert, peruse the famous jewelry auction, sing Christmas carols together and consider the wonder of the coming of the Christ Child with story and song.
