Bellingham Covenant Church regularly supports local, national and international organizations which "proclaim good news to the poor, bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim freedom to the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners" (Isaiah 61:1). Below are some of the ministries we support through financial donations, volunteer hours and in-kind donations of meeting space.
The Lighthouse Mission serves the homeless population of Bellingham in Christ's name. Their services include homeless shelters for men and women, a drop-in center, a home for victims of domestic violence and a discipleship program for those transitioning out of homelessness.
Whatcom Love INC is a clearinghouse of services for needy individuals and families who are referred through a network of churches in the county.
The Interfaith Coalition is supported by a wide range of congregations in Whatcom County. It exists to eliminate poverty in the county by filling gaps in human services, particularly those related to transitional housing and homelessness.
KICY is a Christian radio station affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church which broadcasts from Nome, Alaska throughout western Alaska. It also has Russian language broadcasts which reach into the Russian Far East.
The Paul Carlson Partnership has been at work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for over 50 years supporting medical and economic development through training, grants and infrastructure investment. Our church is in the midst of a 5-year commitment supporting the development of a medical clinic in the northwestern Equateur Province through Paul Carlson's Congo Clinic Initiative.
For over 40 years, University Christian Ministries (Campus Christian Fellowship) has been reaching out to college students in Whatcom County. Through student clubs at Western Washington University, Whatcom Community College and Skagit Valley College, CCF reaches, disciples and provides community for students on public college campuses throughout our region.
WCPC provides free ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, mentoring and a number of other services to help both women and men navigate through the stress of unplanned pregnancies.
